In Volo: challenging the force of gravity through play

By Dr. Daniela Origgi - Export Manager TLF

Faced with the immensity of the sky, human beings remain anchored to the ground by the force of gravity. That is why children concentrate many of their games activities, such as, for example, seesawing, swinging, balancing and jumping, on experimenting with the earth’s gravitational attraction. Children love to look for every possible way to challenge this law of physics, to move as if gravitational attraction did not exist.

“In Volo” is the way to give free rein to their dreams.

With “In Volo” in 2008, TLF is launching three new items of playground equipment, which can be integrated in the product families Modulo Più, and Elastico, both in terms the users’ age group and their aesthetic appearance.

Esalena is a six-seater seesaw, which meets the requirements of children aged eight years and upwards to derive a more complex experience from this equipment than simple rocking. Going on a simple seesaw is no longer considered interesting, because in first place, at this age, there is the need to play in a group, joke, tell each other stories.

The three-seater version, Trilena, while meeting the same requirements, can be used in situations where there is less space available for building the play area.

Esalena and Trilena, made of expensive FSC-certified laminated wood, demonstrate TLF’s care over quality materials, attention to detail and the most innovative Italian design.

The “In Volo” group is completed by Icaro, a cableway adapted to environments and play areas with space limitations. Solid FSC-certified laminated beams on steel plinths give it maximum stability. Designed to allow the user to stop easily, Icaro is equipped with sealed movable parts to avoid any unauthorised tampering.

With Esalena, Trilena and Icaro, not only the child but also the designer can give maximum vent to their own creativity.
